Elliot Schwartz has always had a rough edged immediacy about him – as a photographer he has always sought the hidden layers in his work. As StudioEIS’ President he has been the anchor and the ballast that any creative organization needs.
He received his training at The University of Cincinnati, The California Institute of the Arts and Yale University in Industrial Design, Photography, and Painting. Elliot’s work can be seen in public collections at The Metropolitan Museum, The International Center for Photography, the Albright Knox Museum, The George Eastman House, and The International Museum of Photography in Rochester, NY.
Elliot has shown his work in galleries in the United States and abroad and is the recipient of a Macdowell Colony Fellowship and two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships.
The driving force behind StudioEIS’ extraordinary production history, Elliot’s organizational view and management style is a wonderful balance of Rubik’s thinking and business-engineering.
